France advises its citizens to avoid traveling to Peru due to the protests

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France called on the French on Monday not to travel to Peru due to the violent protests that have followed the removal of the president Pedro Castillo.

The demonstrations in the Peru demand the release of Pedro Castillothe resignation of his successor, Dina Boluartethe dissolution of Parliament and immediate general elections.

France follows the situation in the country “with concern”, where the violence has caused more than twenty deaths and hundreds of injuries.

“We ask for an immediate end to the violence and the resumption of dialogue so that a peaceful solution is found in respect of the rule of law and the Constitution”declared the French spokeswoman.
