Man murdered in Colombia by the person who knocked over his helmet proposed marriage 15 days ago

Héctor Fernando Amariz Nova, only 33 years old, died for an act of intolerance in the Poblado de Girón neighborhood, in Santander, Colombiahours before Christmas was celebrated.

His violent death was evidenced on video. Initially, a man, identified as aka Richie, accidentally stumbled on the sidewalk and he knocked over Amariz’s helmet, this generated anger in the fatal victim and for that reason he hits him with the same helmet on several occasions.

EL TIEMPO spoke with Ómar Acevedo, the cousin of the deceasedwho reported that amariz On December 24, he had announced to the family that he had something to tell them at the celebration of Christmas.

Everyone was waiting for that news that he was going to tell them and that could never be delivered, because he died from the attack of aka Richie that same December 24.

Acevedo recounted that that day his cousin was going to tell them that he had proposed to his partner and that in January 2023 he was going to get married.

The couple had been dating for nine months and lived in free union.

“He was getting married in January, he had gotten engaged to a lady lawyer, they had known each other for three years, the relationship was established 9 months ago and he proposed to her, I think 15 days ago, on the 24th we were going to share as a Christmas friend and He had said that he had to tell us something, it was that, that he was going to get married and that he was leaving for Bogotá”, Acevedo said.

Victim Profile

The 33-year-old victim worked as a warehouse assistant and, according to his relatives, was a soccer fan.

“Hard-working, honest, he had no vices, he didn’t drink, he liked football too much, he was a fan. He had no children, he was the one who helped the parents. He was never a fighter, he was somewhat intolerant, when he is a fighter, he knows that he should not get close, that was what he lacked ”, Acevedo indicated.

Ómar explained that Amariz’s niece witnessed the entire fight and the murder. The man received two stab wounds. one of these in the abdomenwhich was finally the one that compromised his life.

“He stabbed him twice, one in the abdomen and the other in the arm, compromised a vein, he walked out normally, no one helped him, the 12-year-old niece saw everything, arrived at the hospital and was in serious condition”said Acevedo.
