In an ambush by organized crime, Infantry Colonel Juan José Moreno Orzua, commander of the 43rd Infantry Battalion, based in Tepic, and his four bodyguards were killed in the vicinity of Escuinapa, Sinaloa.
The military command and its troops support the operation to contain the violence generated by the capture of Ovid Guzman Lopezwhen they were ambushed by hitmen from the Sinaloa Cartel, linked to “The Chapitos”.

At around 2:50 p.m., Moreno Orzua was declared dead by a firearm projectile in the right hemothorax, military sources reported.
