A Cheng Keke, who lives in China’s Gongyi County, was told by a close relative that a young woman very similar to her lived in another province. Her relative told her that she saw her ‘twin’ because of Douyin.

Visiting the profile, and being struck by the similarities, Keke contacted zhang liwho shared his surprise.

As they got to know each other, their astonishment increased, as they identified that they shared in common the same blood group, food preferences, hobbies and, even, tastes in clothing.

After a month of chatting, Zhang and Cheng were encouraged to make a video call in which they realized that, added to the above, their voices were almost identical. Cheng, after that, began to suspect that there was a real relationship, despite being an only child.

Then her mother would reveal that she was adopted. And Zhang also learned that she was adopted as a result of this incident.

Apparently the birth mother had them and put them up for adoption right away. The woman who adopted Cheng told her that she could only adopt one of the babies and never learned her sister’s fate.

Last March, the two decided to meet in person after being separated for 30 years and verified, through a DNA test, that indeed they were twins.
