Five people were found dead in a house after one of them appeared to have killed the others first and then himself, police said.

Officials found the bodies of two adults and three children in the North Carolina home on Saturday.

All five people were found dead at the scene in northeast downtown High Point.

Authorities have not said how they died, but the killings are being investigated as a “murder-suicide”.

There is no ongoing threat to the community, the researchers said.

Officers were called to the scene after a man and woman ran screaming from the house, and officers found the couple begging for help when they arrived.

Police Chief Matt Truitt told Greensboro News And Record that the two who fled the home were unharmed.

Officers stormed the house and found the victims, the press release said.

The ages or identities of the victims have not been released.
