US: Secret documents found in Joe Biden’s former office

Confidential documents dated by Vice President Joe Biden. This is what was found in a Washington think tank that the incumbent occasionally used as a workplace, the White House said Monday.

Lawyers for Joe Biden discovered the documents in November when the premises were vacated and handed them over to the Archives, which is responsible for preserving such acts, his legal adviser Richard Sauber said. They date back to when Biden was Barack Obama’s vice president from 2009 to 2017.

“The White House is working with the National Archives and the Department of Justice,” Sauber said in a statement.

No nuclear secrets

This “small amount of classified documents” was found in a “locked cabinet” at the Pennsylvania Biden Center, a think tank affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, he said.

“The documents have not been the subject of any prior request or request” and since their delivery to the Archive, Joe Biden’s lawyers have continued to work together to “ensure that the Archives are in their possession from any archive of the Obama-Biden administration.” ,” he added.

Attorney General Merrick Garland ordered the Chicago federal prosecutor to examine the documents, and the federal police (FBI) also launched an investigation, according to CBS News.

Citing an anonymous source, CBS News indicates that there are a dozen documents, and none of them contain nuclear secrets.

Spectacular search of Donald Trump’s house

In August, the FBI conducted a spectacular search of Donald Trump’s Florida residence to recover thousands of documents, including a hundred classified military secrets, that the ex-president took away after leaving the White House and which he kept before. refused to return to the Archive.

Seized from his club in Mar-a-Lago, these confidential documents contained, among other things, confidential information about China and Iran, as well as nuclear secrets, according to press reports.

“When will the FBI raid many of Joe Biden’s residences, perhaps even the White House? ” Donald Trump said in a press release.

“These documents have certainly not been declassified,” continued the man, who apparently erroneously claimed, after the documents were seized from his home, that the President of the United States “could declassify[a document]simply by saying it was declassified, even just thinking about it.”
