Prince Harry said he smoked cannabis after moving to the US with wife Meghan (Image: Concerned)

Prince Harry still smoked cannabis after moving to the US with his family two and a half years ago, he reveals in his book.

The then 36-year-old Duke said he rolled joints while staying at American actor Tyler Perry’s Los Angeles home in 2020, before settling in nearby Montecito.

In the book Spare, which was published in the UK yesterday, he writes: Late at night, when everyone was asleep, I walked around the house checking the doors and windows. Then I would sit on the balcony or at the edge of the garden and roll a joint.

“The house overlooked a valley, over a hill full of frogs. I listened to her nightly song, smell the fragrant air.”

Cannabis was legalized for recreational use in California in 2016, but it has been speculated that Harry’s approval to use the drug could jeopardize his US visa. The 38-year-old also admitted to Spare that he used cocaine when he was 17 and once hallucinated mushrooms at a celebrity party in California.

When asked about the royal family’s visas and drug use, the US State Department said: “All applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Visa details are confidential under US law, so we cannot disclose the details of not discuss individual cases.
