Russia says British tanks sent to Ukraine ‘will burn’

The Kremlin assured this Monday that the British Challenger 2 tanks “will burn” in Ukraine and they will not be able to influence the course of the Russian “special military operation”.

“Those tanks will burn like the rest”said the spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dmitri Peskov, at his daily press conference.

The Kremlin representative thus referred to the statements by Rishi Sunak’s government, which promised last weekend that it would send 14 Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine to defend against Russian aggression.

Peskov added that the new weapons supplies to Ukraine they are not able to influence “the situation on the ground”.

“They can only drag out the story and cause more harm to the Ukrainian state”he claimed.

Peskov was convinced that the Russian military campaign “will continue until it achieves its objectives.”

Ukrainewhich has been using T-72 tanks for decades, has received more than 230 modernized Soviet tanks from Poland and the Czech Republic, but has received no Western main battle tanks.

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyrecently received promises of light armored vehicles: 50 Bradleys from the US, 40 Marders from Germany and AMX-10 RC units from France that will arrive in the country in about two months.

On Saturday the UK became the first country to announce the supply of heavy tanks to Ukraine.
