Images of the destruction in Dnipro after the Russian attack on residential buildings that left more than 40 dead

It is one of the most brutal attacks since the beginning of the Russian invasion in Ukraine 11 months ago.

At least 40 people died and 75 were injured when an apartment complex in Dnipro, eastern Ukraine, was demolished by a missile hit on Saturday.

Among the dead is a 15-year-old teenager. In addition, two children have been orphaned, according to the Ukrainian authorities.

They point out that Russia carried out the attack with a Kh-22a powerful anti-ship missile that exceeds the speed of sound and is capable of evading Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses.

Ukraine and a large part of the international community have strongly condemned this massacre, while the Ukrainian rescue services continue to work on the scene in search of missing persons.
