Woman was mobilizing on a motorcycle, fell into a hole and lost both legs

A woman who was driving a motorcycle on the road that connects Girón with the North of Bucaramanga (Colombia) lost her balance trying to avoid a gap and was hit by a truck.

After the accident, several people helped the woman identified as Lucila Sierra Agredo and an ambulance took her to the Santander University Hospital, where medical personnel had to amputate both of her legs to save her life.

Several videos show how the woman is immobilized and moved after suffering this accident that almost took her life.

Through social networks, the community came together to make a call to the authorities, because this hole has already caused several accidents in the area. “It is not possible that the Panamericana is in this state,” mentioned a driver in the middle of the protest.

Wilmer Rodríguez, one of the leaders of this protest, told La Vanguardia that these blockades could be carried out throughout the week and even move to roads such as Puerta del Sol and the Morrorico road.

“We are tired of the authorities not taking responsibility for the humanitarian crisis that the people who travel on this road and those of us who live in the surrounding neighborhoods, such as Betania, are experiencing,” he told the outlet.

After several hours of blockades, the Secretary of the Interior of BucaramangaManuel Vásquez, went to the place and committed to the community to leave this road in good condition.
