They point to Disney employees for mocking a Latina who died in an attraction

Joanne Aguilar, 66, and her family attended the disney parks on August 22, 2021 to spend a special day and, far from being a fairy tale, it turned into a nightmare when the woman fell from an attraction and broke her leg.

It is worth saying that he was in a wheelchair due to a previous knee injury, for which he required the Access Service for the Disabled.

This fall caused Aguilar to spend days in the hospital and then several weeks in a rehabilitation clinic. However, contracting an infection, he died on January 29, 2022.

Now, her daughters are going to court to file a lawsuit against the park, because according to them Disneyland employees laughed and made fun of the woman instead of helping her. According to US media, the lawsuit alleges that it was her initial injury at her theme park that led to her death.

With this appeal they ask that Disneyland pay “all economic damages”, including medical costs, burial and funeral expenses, attorneys’ fees and any other incidental damages.

And it is that according to their story, the employees in charge of the Jungle Cruise attraction told them that the wheelchair-accessible boats of the attraction were not available, they could still use those of the other boats. They did and when Aguilar got off he fell.

“The family alleges in the lawsuit that the employees stood watching and at one point, “began to giggle as they watched (Aguilar) try to get out of the boat safely,” reports ‘Los Angeles Times’.

For its part, Disneyland requested that it be dismissed, arguing that the injuries suffered were the responsibility of their daughters. However, federal district judge Cormac J. Carney has already taken charge of the case and will have to wait for the investigation.
