A notorious McDonald’s restaurant is about to close after hundreds of police calls.

The Ottawa, Canada outlet was the scene of a viral video of a raccoon flailing during a mass brawl in 2013.

According to local reports, it has been visited by police “hundreds” of times in its 40 years of existence.

Jack Graham told CBC News, “I was here about a week and a half ago. And I just felt like I was slipping, so I watched [at my shoe] and there is a needle.’

Another Ottowa resident said the restaurant had fallen into “complete rubbish” over the years.

The McDonald’s on Rideau Street is perhaps best known for a video that went viral in 2013 showing a huge fight.

More than 15 men were seen trading punches and throwing objects at each other on the property.

In a major twist, a man pulled a raccoon out of his cloak and went into battle.

In 2018 alone, hundreds of emergency calls were made to the police due to disputes and angry customers.

That same year, a clip titled “Legendary Rideau McDonald’s” surfaced that filmed three men beating each other with floorboards.

The McDonald’s restaurant would eventually reduce opening hours due to increasing anti-social behavior.

But as similar circumstances continued, Ottawa Police Chief Charles Bordeleau sent a letter to McDonald’s Canada complaining of “ongoing criminal activity and social disorder”.

Building owner Crosthwaite told CTV he believes the reason for the restaurant’s eventual closure is more general.

He said: “The city demolished Rideau Street when they put the subway in it.

“Then they ripped it open again to improve it with curbs.

“There’s also been freedom rallies and COVID, all of these things are upheavals that can’t make stable, reliable operations easy.”
