A Ukrainian unit guards a trench near Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region, where conflicts between Russians and Ukrainians continue. Alexander, one of its members, 26, admits that there is “electricity”, “heating”, as well as “tea” and “hot meals”: “Enough for a normal life,” he says.
He and his comrades fired on Russian positions, located about 500-600 meters from the trench, with various weapons, including automatic pistols or grenade launchers. “Here, against us, there are heavy machine guns, anti-tank rifles, but they have very bad snipers … The positions are well made and fortified. Here we can stand, and we will stand,” said Vladimir, also 26, who came from Germany to defend his country.
