More than 30 tourists were rescued after a shipwreck in the Portuguese Algarve

A group of 34 tourists and two crew members were rescued today in lakein it Algarve Portuguese, after the boat in which they were traveling shipwrecked 600 meters from the coast, although only minor injuries were recorded.

the captain of port of portimaoRodrigo González dos Paços, explained to journalists that after receiving the alert, several rescue boats were sent to the site of the shipwreck, where they found people in the water wearing life jackets.

The teams rescued all the ship’s passengers, 36 people – including four children – and they were transferred to the Portimão Naval Club.

They were reviewed by medical emergency personnel, who found some cases of hypothermia and anxiety problems, but no one required hospital assistance.

González dos Paços pointed out that the Maritime Police is going to open an investigation into the causes of the shipwreck, but advanced that this type of vessel was not in a condition to operate in the state of the sea.
