Dad tried to scare his son into studying and killed him by mistake

On the Asian continent, a father who ended the life of his son by stabbing him with a katana is sentenced. The Mianyang court ruled that Yang Junming, a citizen Chinese– used a Japanese sword, used by samurai, to cut his 13-year-old son, who died in a hospital.

These events occurred some time ago, exactly on January 7, 2022, after the father had a video call with the child’s teacher, in which he informed him of his son’s poor academic performance. For example, he received a grade of 18 out of 100 on a physical education test.

This news provoked an uncontrollable rage in the father, who accused him of being a “too lazy young man”. His son decided to respond to his accusation and Yang, consumed by his anger, decided to grab a katana to scare him, but ended up causing the tragic death of his firstborn.

“I got so angry that I took a Japanese samurai sword and went to stab him,” Yang Junming explained in front of a judge, according to the ‘South China Morning Post’.

The man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the act he committed, since the minor’s waist suffered a deep cut made by the sword, which caused a 10-centimeter wound. Although the father called the ambulance for medical assistance, the minor died after two hours of surgery, as he had lost a considerable amount of blood.

“I just wanted to scare him. I did the worst with the best motivation.” the minor’s father told the police, according to the previously cited newspaper. According to Yang, he had acquired the katana online, as he was interested in collecting them.
