G7 asks the IMF to deliver an aid package to Ukraine before the end of March

G7 finance ministers on Thursday urged the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to launch a new help package for Ukraine before the end of March, according to a group statement following a meeting in Bangalore, India.

We call on the IMF and Ukraine to put in place a credible, ambitious, fully funded and properly conditional program before the end of March 2023.”the G7 said in the document.

The group added that the sanctions had so far “significantly undermined Russia’s capabilities in its illegal war. We will continue to closely monitor the sanctions and take further action if necessary.”

We will continue to work closely together and with our partners to enforce the sanctions and prevent any attempt to evade or avoid the sanctions. In this context, we call on other countries to join our sanctions against Russia.”he added.
