Donald Trump says he will be ‘arrested’ on Tuesday and calls for demonstrations

Take back your nation! In a message to everyone in capitals posted this Saturday on Truth Social, former US President Donald Trump assures he will be “arrested on Tuesday” and calls on Americans to “protest.” He also denounces New York City’s justice system, which he describes as “corrupt” and “highly politicized”.

Referring to a “leak” from the New York State Attorney’s Office for the District of Manhattan, the former U.S. president wrote in capital letters: “The Republican candidate is very far ahead (his opponents in the primaries), and the former president of the United States of America will be arrested on Tuesday next week. Demonstrate, take back our nation! »

Will Trump be indicted soon?

Trump is likely referring to the case of Stormy Daniel, the porn star he is suspected of giving a large amount of money to keep quiet about an alleged affair she allegedly had with a real estate mogul.

For days, signs and rumors have sprung up of a possible criminal indictment of the ex-head of state by a grand jury — a panel of citizens with broad investigative powers and responsible for approving the indictment — at this stage of the investigation, led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a Democratic judge-elect. This will be the first time for a former US president.

On Friday, one of Donald Trump’s lawyers, Joseph Takopina, told the media that his client would “turn” to justice in New York if he was charged.

His former lawyer heard

On Monday, Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer and now one of his worst enemies, Michael Cohen, testified before a grand jury during an investigation into a non-disclosure agreement.

According to the New York Times and the Washington Post, Donald Trump himself was invited to testify before this grand jury by the Manhattan prosecutor’s office, possibly indicative of prosecutors’ desire to bring the former president to justice.

According to the New York Times, the possible charge will involve violations of accounting or campaign finance laws related to the payment to Stormy Daniels.
