Chavismo assures that the corrupt are “exceptions” within its ranks

The first vice president of United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), God given hairassured this Monday that the members accused of corruption within their ranks, including the until today Minister of Petroleum, Tareck El-Aissamiare “exceptions” that do not have the support of training.

“The corrupt have no place in the revolution. Being corrupt is not being revolutionary, it is not revolutionary who wears a red shirt and is stealing (…) we are acting against those exceptions”, Cabello said during a press conference, in Caracas.

He assured that the officials pointed out or arrested for alleged embezzlement of funds in the last hours, some of them PSUV militants, constitute a “exception” which will be reviewed within the match, which has been put “at the forefront of the fight against the scourge of corruption and any vice”.

“We do not cover any criminal act from anyone (…) We will never be accompanying any of these acts, we are going to face it, whoever falls, we do not care, in this case, the consequences because we are very clear about the path of what what do we have to do”, he continued.

The Oil Minister resigned from his position on Monday due to allegations of alleged corruption within the state-owned PDVSA, which became known hours after the state channel VTV confirmed the arrest of four officials for similar acts.

The National Anti-Corruption Police arrested the now former head of the National Superintendency of Cryptoactives (Sunacrip), Joselit Ramirez; to Christopher Cornieles, president of the Criminal Judicial Circuit of Caracas; to Jose Mascimino Marquezcontrol judge in crimes associated with terrorism, since Pedro Hernandezmayor of the Santos Michelena municipality of Aragua state (center).

The police force asked the Prosecutor’s Office on Friday to prosecute an undetermined number of citizens who “they exercised functions” in public power and that “they could be involved in serious acts of administrative corruption and embezzlement”.
