The Ecuadorian justice sentenced a former police officer, his wife and two other subjects to 34 years in prison for the murder of the former agent’s seven-month-old daughter, committed last year by hitmen in the Andean province of Imbabura.

The prosecution detailed this Friday that, based on justified evidence, a court sentenced the former police officer Louis L.to your wife Marisol G.to Jose L. and Ufredo B. “34 years in prison for the assassination that ended the life of the ex-uniformed’s daughter in April 2022”in the Andean city of Ibarra.

Last November, the Judge of Criminal Guarantees of ImbaburaFrancisco Chacón, called to trial those now sentenced for the crime of the girl, which occurred on April 20, 2022, when Ufredo B. and José L. shot at the girl and her mother, the ex-policeman’s ex-partner.

The magistrate made that resolution after having analyzed the more than fifty elements of conviction presented by the prosecutor Johnny Hurtadoat the trial evaluation and preparatory hearing, held on November 9.

The prosecutor presented as elements of conviction the recognition report of the scene of the facts and evidence, an audio, video and related expert made on the cell phone of Ufredo B.from which conversations with Marisol G. -alias “la Majo”- related to the event were extracted.

In addition, the voices of those audios were compared, which they determined that they correspond to the two now sentenced.

“He also presented a ballistic examination that established that the shell (casing) found at the scene was fired from a police weapon – handed over by the uniformed officer to one of the hitmen – to commit the crime.”indicated the prosecution.

The prosecution also referred to the anticipated testimony of Ufredo B.in which he narrated that the former police officer and his spouse paid him $3,500 to perpetrate the illegal act against the girl’s mother, whom Luis L. called on the phone and asked her to leave her home to talk.

“She left and at that moment Ufredo B. and José Luis L. arrived on a motorcycle and shot”indicated.
