Macron says China knows it is not yet time for negotiations in Ukraine

This is not the time for negotiations, although we are preparing them and we must lay the foundations. This is the objective of this dialogue with China, to consolidate common approaches”, indicated the French president.

Among those points, Macron listed “support for the principles of UN charter” and a “reminder” on nuclear responsibility, regarding what he qualified that “it is up to China to draw consequences from the fact that President Putin deployed nuclear weapons in belarus a few days after committing not to”.

The list of priority approaches, for the French president, is completed with respect for “humanitarian law and child protection” and the “commitment to a negotiated and lasting peace”.
