She goes to the hospital to be treated for endometriosis and wakes up without a uterus: “They crushed my dream of being a mother”

At 31, Zoe Bailey, from Manchester, England, has been left without the possibility of conceiving a baby, something she had always dreamed of. She was devastated after receiving the news and even more so when she found out that the doctors carried out an operation without consulting her.

From an early age, the woman suffered from menstrual cramps that weakened her in her adolescent stage, but the doctors informed her that it was “normal” and typical of her periods. When she grew up, her life would take an unexpected turn.

According NY PostBailey entered temporary menopause twice, most recently in 2015, with the aim of giving her reproductive system a “rest” and even quit her job.

However, great was the surprise that she got when she woke up without both parts of the cervix and the uterus. “I didn’t expect anything to be removed from my body that day, but the doctors said they had no choice due to the severity of my condition.” explained.

After undergoing unannounced surgery, doctors told zoe that she could no longer get pregnant and this devastated the woman, since it was her biggest dream since she was little.

“I was so upset and angry, even more so at the fact that I had been told there was no chance it (endometriosis) could come back, as I had surgery to remove it,” added.

the nightmare does not end

In 2019, she had to have another routine internal checkup and woke up without a bowel movement and instead had a stoma bag.

Bailey claimed that the stoma bag was only supposed to be there for six months, but was told that she had to learn to live with it for life because they found a tissue-filled blockage of endometriosis in her remaining intestines.

The doctors informed her that the only way to alleviate her symptoms is to undergo a full hysterectomy, which would leave her unable to produce eggs.

This means that you won’t be able to reproduce any and it is for this reason that you want to freeze them before you have surgery. Given this, the woman created a GoFundMe campaign to raise money and thus make this procedure possible.

The Manchester resident hopes to raise just over $6,000 and to date has $1,300. “I think of all the people who have children and abandon them or hurt them and I don’t think they understand how lucky they are.” said.
