On April 30, 2019, Guaidó commanded, together with Leopoldo Lopez – until then under house arrest and now residing in Madrid – an attempted rebellion from outside the La Carlota air base, in eastern Caracas, along with some 40 soldiers of different ranks.

The attempt lasted barely half a day, after the threats of the opponents failed, both from the party Popular will (VP), to unite more soldiers to their cause.
