Carroll accused Trump of having raped her in the changing room of a department store in New York in the mid-nineties, and also to defame her when she decided to make her complaint public in a book that she published in 2019.

The jury began deliberating this morning after two weeks of trial and it took less than three hours to reach a unanimous verdictconsidering it responsible for “sexual abuse”, but not rape, and defamation against Carroll in a civil trial.

The ex-president will have to pay the complainant a compensation of 5 million dollars.
