Syria accuses Israel of launching missile attack on Damascus

A military source quoted by SANA said that the action took place around 11:45 p.m. local time on Sunday (8:45 GMT), when “the Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the occupied Syrian Golan” and that it had as its objective “some points in the vicinity of Damascus.”

He also pointed out that Syrian air defenses intercepted Israeli missiles, shot down some of them over the capital and that the aggression was only limited to “material damage”, without providing further details.

For its part, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights indicated in a statement that it was an attack with “Israeli missiles” that targeted facilities of the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah – Israel’s arch-enemy – on the outskirts of the capital, including Damascus International Airport.
