Anti-Chavismo invites Venezuelan migrants to vote in the opposition primaries

The opposition of Venezuela grouped in the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) this Thursday invited Venezuelans abroad to vote in the primary elections on October 22, in which the anti-Chavismo will define a coalition candidacy to face the ruling party in the 2024 presidential.

The coalition offered a press conference in which it celebrated the activation of a web platform that will allow Venezuelans abroad to update their residence information to participate, as voters, in the internal election process.

The 2023 primary is our main fighting tool, but in the face of the unfortunate blockade by the ruling party, the National Commission for Primary (CNP) enabled a digital platform so that Venezuelans abroad, previously registered in the Electoral Registrycan update their address information and votesaid the member of the PUD, Manuel Rojas Perezquoted in a press release.

He assured that the activation of the web platform is a “good news”, which will allow the migrantsto be protagonists of a historical event”.

He clarified that this update system, which “has no effect for the presidential or any other election”, is biometric, which guarantees “its certainty and confidentiality”.

In addition, the opponent invited migrants to participate in the internal elections that, he believes, are “a unique opportunity” to change the Venezuelan reality.

The update procedure is only for citizens who are previously registered in the Electoral Registry, so that they can vote in one of the 80 cities, from 31 countries, listed by the opposition for holding internal elections outside of Venezuela.
