Fight between women in Colombia ended in tragedy: one died and another lost her eye

With sharp elements, two women clashed in the Alaska neighborhood, in Ibagué, Colombiaduring the festivities of San Pedro and San Pablo, as recorded on video by a security camera.

In the middle of a public thoroughfare, both women attacked each other with knives. People around them only interceded when they saw that they were seriously injured. One of the women remained on her feet after receiving a stab wound to her chest, but died minutes later in a hospital in the capital of the tolima.

“Two women were involved, who attacked each other with sharp weapons in an act of intolerance”detailed Colonel Sandra Liliana Rodríguez, commander of the Ibagué Police.

The victim was identified as Lizeth Rogelia Carranza, 25, who was the mother of a child. The aforementioned aggressor also suffered serious injuries; lost an eye

“The woman who was injured is apprehended and is in the process of being prosecuted as responsible for these events,” Colonel Rodríguez expressed.

It is presumed that the fight originated when both were drinking alcoholic beverages, during the morning of Sunday, July 3.

Added to this death was that of a young man, aged 17, who was also wounded with a sharp weapon in another neighborhood of Ibagué, in the midst of an act of intolerance. “He received an injury at the height of the thorax. For this fact, the alleged attacker was captured in flagrante delicto,” added the Police.
