The tabloid The Sun published on Friday the testimony of the mother of a minor, who accuses without naming a well-known BBC presenter of having given several tens of thousands of pounds sterling to her son in exchange for pornographic photos.

The mother does not specify if her 17-year-old son is a girl or a boy.

According to the newspaper, the family contacted the BBC on May 19 to inform them of the situation, but the presenter remained on the air for several weeks.

The British government ordered the audiovisual group on Sunday to investigate one of its presenters.

The accusations “must be investigated urgently and sensitively”, said the Ministry of Culture in charge of the media in a statement.
