The NATO will raise a major obstacle to the accession of Ukraine to the alliance, a Western official said on Monday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told AFP that the allies “are willing” to eliminate the requirement of Membership Action Plan.

“The allies of the NATO are willing to take that step as a sign that Ukraine has made progress on its path to accession”he added.
