The Pope recalls the bombing of Rome in World War II and compares it to Ukraine

He Pope Francisco recalled that these days commemorate the 80th anniversary of the bombing during the World War II from some neighborhoods Romeespecially in San Lorenzo, and affirmed that unfortunately these tragedies are still repeated and cited the suffering of the ukrainiansduring the Sunday Angelus prayer.

“The 80th anniversary of the bombing of some neighborhoods of Romeespecially San Lorenzo. The pope, the venerable Pius XIIwanted to go among the shocked people”, Francis recalled this attack on July 19, 1943 by US planes that left more than 3,000 dead in the capital and devastated entire areas.
