Trump pleads not guilty to new charges in secret documents case

The former president is scheduled to go to trial in Florida in May 2024 for allegedly taking classified documents to his Mar-a-Lago residence and refusing to return them.

In June, he pleaded not guilty to charges of unlawful withholding of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice and false statements.

Additional charges filed against Trump last week relate to his alleged efforts to obstruct the FBI’s investigation, which was trying to recover the classified material.

In the latest indictment in this case, Trump He is accused of trying to delete the recordings from the Mar-a-Lago security cameras to prevent the authorities from getting hold of them.

The Prosecutor’s Office accused two other people in this case: Waltine “Walt” Nauta, personal assistant of Trump for many years, and Carlos De Oliveira, property manager for Mar-a-Lago.
