The OAS condemns the assassination of presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio in Ecuador

The Electoral Observation Mission of the Organization of American States (OAS) condemned this Wednesday the murder in Ecuador of the presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio after a political rally and announced that several of its members will arrive in the country tomorrow.

Villavicencio was assassinated this Wednesday after being shot by unknown persons at the exit of an electoral rally of his campaign in a central sector of Quito.

The Minister of the Interior, Juan Zapataconfirmed the information and assured that the attack was perpetrated by hitmen who also injured other people.
