At least three police officers killed in an attack by an armed group in southwestern Colombia

At least three policemen were assassinated this Saturday on a highway in the Colombian municipality of Morales, in the convulsed department of Cauca (southwest), in an attack perpetrated in an area where dissidents of the former FARC and the guerrilla National Liberation Army (THE N).

“Solidarity with the Police and the families of the three policemen murdered today in Morales, Cauca, and condemns those who committed the crime”the Minister of the Interior wrote on the social network X, Luis Fernando Velasco.

The fatalities are the subintendent Maicol Leonthe patrolman Jorge Laureano Orozco and the patrol boat Heymi Marcelina Rodriguezas has been known unofficially.

Until now, neither the Police nor the authorities of the Department of Cauca have spoken about it.

Morales is located in an area where dissidents from the FARCthe ELN and drug trafficking groups fighting for territorial control.
