At least twelve people were killed and dozens injured Monday night by an explosion and fire at a gas station in dagestana region russian in it Caucasusannounced the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“More than 60 people were injured in a fire makhachkala and 12 of them are dead”, the ministry wrote on Telegram.

The fire, in which 260 firefighters are working, affects an area of around 600 m2, the ministry said.
According to a witness quoted in Telegram by the Russian newspaper Izvestia, the fire started in an area where there were parked vehicles and spread to the gas station.

“After the explosion, everything fell on top of our heads, we couldn’t see anything”, explained this witness, whose name is not mentioned in the media.
A video posted on Telegram by the Ria Novosti news agency shows flames rising above a building before a gigantic explosion ensued.
