Russians lay flowers at centers of the Wagner group in memory of Yevgeny Prigozhin

Dozens of Russians have come to the centers of the Wagner group in Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk to lay flowers in memory of the head of that mercenary company, Yevgeny Prigozhinwhose plane crashed yesterday in the European part of Russia.

Wagner supporters also light candles and place them in a kind of makeshift memorial to Prigozhin.

According to images published on social networks, a Wagnerite burst into tears after laying flowers in Novosibirsk, where the group of mercenaries opened an office last March.

The private Embraer plane carrying Wagner’s boss crashed on Wednesday afternoon in the Tver region, north of Moscow, when he was heading from the Russian capital to Saint Petersburg.

In the accident, the causes of which are still unknown, the ten occupants of the aircraft died.

According to one of the preliminary versions, the aircraft, which fell to the ground from a height of 8.5 kilometers, suffered a bomb attack, which would have been hidden in the landing gear compartment of the aircraft.

The civil aviation agency, Rosaviatsia, reported that seven passengers were traveling on the Embraer-135, including Prigozhin and his right-hand man, Dmitri Utkin, a former Russian military intelligence (GRU) officer.
