Belarusian president dismisses “stupid” request to expel Wagner group

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenkoconsidered “stupid” on Thursday the call by Poland and the Baltic countries to expel the paramilitary group Wagner of its territory after the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin in a plane crash.

“Leaders in Poland and the Baltic states are fanning hysteria over the presence” of Wagner in belarusstated lukashenko before its Security Council, denouncing some “irrational and stupid requests”.

The leader accused Poland and to the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) to impose “demands” despite the fact that they “keep increasing your military budgets and attracting major military formations to the borders”.

“There should not be a single foreign soldier in Poland, Lithuania or the other Baltic States”stressed lukashenkoalluding to the forces deployed within the framework of the NATO.

The Belarusian president, a close ally of Moscow, said he was willing to “restore relations with [sus] neighbors” but noted that his proposals were “received with accusations and threats”.
