Opposition party accuses military personnel of “shooting” indigenous people in the Venezuelan Amazon

The Venezuelan opposition party Popular will This Friday he accused the military of “shooting” indigenous people in operations in the Amazon of the country, where on Wednesday there was a clash between the Armed Forces and suspected illegal miners, which left two dead and six injured, according to the military institution.

“We denounce what is happening (in the Yapacana national park). (…) They are shooting at the indigenous people with real bullets. The opponent, according to a party press release, assured that the operations carried out by the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) “He seeks to kill the indigenous people” in Yapacana, where – he indicated – 8,000 people live, and not “take care of the territory of irregular groups”.
