The minimum wage in UK will increase from April 2024 until it reaches at least 11 pounds sterling a day (about $13.40), British Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt is expected to announce on Monday.
“Work must be profitable and we make sure it is,” Hunt will declare according to excerpts of his speech released on Sunday, ahead of his speech at the Conservative Party congress.

The minimum hourly wage is currently set at £10.42 ($12.70). According to the government, two million people will benefit from this revaluation.
“We promised (…) to raise the minimum wage to two-thirds of the average income to end low wages in the country,” Hunt will say according to this preview of the speech.
