Hamas attack in Israel: Dan, a 27-year-old French-Israeli, killed during the attack on the Tribe of Nova festival

He became the latest victim among many other Hamas barbarities. Dan Benamou, a 27-year-old from Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), was killed on Saturday during the Tribe of Nova techno music festival, Le Parisien learned from his family.

Like several hundred Israelis and foreigners, Dan went to the Nova Tribe festival, which took place outdoors near Kibbutz Reim in southern Israel from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon. The event was violently attacked by Hamas around 6:30 am. According to the latest data, about 260 people died as a result of this attack.

Dan’s loved ones haven’t heard from him since Saturday morning. His older brother Johan then posted an appeal for witnesses on Facebook to try to get any information about his disappearance. He finally learned of her death on Tuesday. “He was killed on Saturday, but his body was only identified yesterday (Tuesday, editor’s note),” Johan told Le Parisien.

“Dan was a good boy, he didn’t serve in the army, he didn’t care about the war.”

Dan, 27, was born in Marseille, like his older brother Johan and their father. Their mother is from Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône). The family moved to Israel when Dan and Johan were still children. “I have two more brothers who were born here in Israel,” explains Johan.

“Dan was a good boy, he didn’t join the army, he didn’t care about the war,” he testifies, very shocked by the disappearance of his younger brother. “He was killed at the Nova Festival, he just wanted to live there.”

Dan’s funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at a cemetery in Ra’anana, an Israeli city located north of Tel Aviv, according to a Facebook post on the Herzliya, My City page. The meditation was to begin at 15:00 local time.
