Shooting in Brussels: man opens fire in the center and leaves at least two people dead

At least two people died this Monday due to shots fired by a man who opened fire late in the afternoon in Brussels and fled, as reported by several local media outlets and confirmed by police sources, who also indicated the existence of an as yet unspecified number of injured people.

The media agrees in stating that a man opened fire this Monday, around 7pm, in the center of Brussels.

The event was recorded on the Boulevard d’Ypres when a man wearing a fluorescent orange jacket got off a motorcycle and fired a “war weapon”according to the newspaper Sudinfo.

Information about the shooting was confirmed by the police and the Fire Department spokesperson. Brussels, Walter Derieuwwhich indicated that “The assessment is not very accurate at this time” about the circumstances in which the events occurred.

In a video recorded by a witness, which circulates online and is reproduced by the sports newspaper DHthe man is seen arriving alone on a small motorcycle, throws it to the ground and quickly begins shooting at people in the street.

The attacker, who wears a white helmet, chases several people who try to take refuge in a glass building, shooting at them and finishing one of them when he is already on the ground.

The man also shot two people who were in a taxi and then fled on the motorcycle, according to some media, whichThey are certain that the two fatal victims are Swedish citizens.
