Sergio Massa: “In four minutes citizens decide their future for four years”

The candidate of the ruling coalition Union for the Fatherland (Peronism), Sergio Massaindicated this Sunday, after voting in the Argentine general elections, that in the four minutes it takes a citizen to select a ballot he decides “the future of the next four years”.

The official candidate stated that citizens should vote “thinking about the future of Argentina with hope” and that your responsibility this Monday is to continue working towards “taking care of Argentines, their work, their savings, everything else.”

Pastawho had scheduled to vote at 11:00 am (2:00 pm GMT), had, as it turned out, a domestic problem that forced him to delay his arrival at the polling station, after which he had to wait inside the electoral precinct until other voters voted, so he ended up doing this almost two hours later, at 12:50 pm (15:50 GMT).

In a relaxed and peaceful environment, the official candidate arrived accompanied by his wife Malena Galmarini, who presides over the board of directors of the state-owned company Agua y Saneamientos Argentinos (AYSA), with which he drank mate – the typical infusion of Rio da Prata, Paraguay and southern Brazil-, as well as chatting and taking photos with their fans.

The Minister of Economy recalled that Argentina celebrates in 2023 forty years of the return of democracy after the last dictatorship (1976-1983) and highlighted that the good participation that election day is having “demonstrates the democratic vocation of the Argentine people.”

Around 35.4 million Argentines are called upon to, in addition to electing president and vice-president, renew 130 of the 257 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 24 of the 72 in the Senate, and designate 43 Argentine representatives for the Mercosur Parliament (Parlasullegislative body of the bloc formed by Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay).

Along with this there will be general elections for positions in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Catamarca, Entre Ríos and Autonomous City of Buenos Airess -who decided not to separate their elections from national ones, like the rest of the districts-.

In addition to Sergio Massathe main presidential candidates Argentina is the leader of Advances of Freedom (far right), Javier Mileiwho received the most votes in the August primary elections, and the candidate Together for Change (center right), Patricia Bullrich.

The interim governor also competes Cordoba, Juan Schiarettithat represents We do it for our country (dissident Peronism), and the candidate of the Left and Workers Front, Myriam Bregman.
