Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip: families of hostages demand “explanations”

“A night of great suffering. Families of hostages, mostly Israelis, held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip expressed “concern” this Saturday following intensive military operations in the Palestinian territory.

“The families are concerned about the fate of their loved ones and are waiting for an explanation. Every minute seems like an eternity. We demand that Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and members of the War Cabinet meet with us this morning (this Saturday),” said a press release from the association, which unites the families of more than 220 hostages abducted by Hamas on October 7.

The forum expresses “huge outrage that no member of the War Cabinet bothered to meet with the families of the hostages” and asks: “Does the ground operation put the 229 hostages (identified by the authorities) in danger?” “.

The war was triggered by the October 7 attacks carried out by the Palestinian Hamas movement inside Israel, unprecedented in scale and intensity since the founding of the State of Israel in 1948.

Kidnapped on the first day of the war

More than 1,400 people, the vast majority of them civilians, were killed by Hamas commandos from the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli authorities.

They were of all ages, shot to death, burned alive, mutilated, caught by surprise in the early morning of Shabbat, the Jewish weekly day of rest, on their kibbutz, at a rave party in the desert, while driving their car. ..

Hamas commandos kidnapped dozens of people and bodies and took them back to the Gaza Strip. According to the latest data released Friday by the Israeli army, authorities have identified 229 hostages. In a video sent by an Islamist organization, a young French-Israeli woman named Mia was identified among the hostages.

An American woman and her daughter, as well as two octogenarian Israelis, were released by Hamas after Egyptian-Qatari mediation.
