VIDEO. Who is Ahed Tamimi, the 22-year-old Palestinian figure arrested for “inciting terrorism”?

Since childhood, she has become famous for her opposition to the presence of Israeli soldiers in her home in Nabi Saleh. It was here that Ahed Tamimi was arrested this Monday, November 6, by the Israeli army on suspicion of being the author of an Instagram post whose content was extremely shocking.

“We are going to kill you,” it says, referring to “a group of settlers” and referring to Hitler. She denies writing the message “inciting violence and terrorist activity.” She was then “handed over to Israeli security forces for further questioning,” according to an army spokesman.

Ahed Tamimi was born in 2001 and grew up in a family very loyal to the Israeli occupation. From the age of 11, in 2012, a photo of her raising her fist in front of a soldier made an impression. Later, when she was 14 years old, a video of her biting the hand of a soldier who wanted to arrest her younger brother, pinned to the ground, also went viral around the world.

In 2017, the girl and her mother were sentenced to eight months in prison for hitting two soldiers in the yard of their house. His release in 2018 was greeted by cameras around the world. The Palestinian figure is then invited to France, to the Celebration of Humanity, or even to Carthage, where she meets with the President of Tunisia.
