Specifically, prosecutors accuse him of failing to pay approximately $1.4 million in federal taxes over a four-year period: 2016 to 2019.

Biden Hunterpoints out the Public Ministry in the 56-page document, “spent millions of dollars on an extravagant lifestyle instead of paying his taxes”.

The prosecution was led by the prosecutor David Weissthe same person who already presented a first indictment to the Democratic president’s son in the middle of this year for three charges related to the purchase and possession of weapons, which is illegal when it comes to a person with dependencies, and which he acquired in 2018.

This new accusation comes a week before the president’s son is scheduled to testify before the House of Representativesas part of a legislative investigation into alleged irregularities committed by the president to benefit his family’s business.

Last October, Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty in court in Delaware of the accusations against him for having purchased a gun in 2018, by lying that he did not use drugs, despite later admitting that he struggled with crack addiction.

The accusations against the son of the Democratic president result from an investigation opened in 2018 during the Government of donald trump (2017-2021) and which the former president himself, now a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, has used to attack Biden, with whom he could face in the 2024 elections.

The investigation, which has lasted five years, this year led to an agreement between Hunter Biden’s defense and the prosecution team led by prosecutor David Weiss, appointed by Trump, which may have put an end to the judicial drama.

However, that pact collapsed and now Hunter Biden faces a trial that will likely take place in the middle of the campaign for the November 2024 elections.
