Venezuela announces the “commercial opening” of its border with Colombia

The government of Venezuela announced this Monday the “commercial opening” of the broad land border with Colombia, closed since 2019 in the middle of a political and diplomatic dispute with the neighboring country.

“Starting tomorrow we will be opening trade between our countries”, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez said in a message on state television a few hours after containers that blocked circulation through the main binational bridge were removed, AFP confirmed.
