The latter also asked the Russian president if it was true that he had “many doppelgängers,” prompting bursts of laughter from the crowd. The student, who is from St. Petersburg and did not give his real identity, was referring to recurring rumors, already denied by the Kremlin, that Vladimir Putin is ill and would resort to body doubles for some public appearances. This sequence seems to have confused the Russian president a little.
