AMLO wants the violence crisis in Ecuador “to be temporary”

The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obradorhoped this Wednesday that the crisis of violence in Ecuador it is temporary, in addition to ruling out that there are Mexicans affected by the events that occurred on Tuesday.

“We support people and government of Ecuador In this situation, I hope be transient and that peace is restored in the sister country of Ecuador, we have no information about the Mexicans who are affected by these clashes”indicated the president in his morning conference, now held in Acapulco.

The Mexican president condemned the events and supported the actions of the Government of Ecuador to contain violence.

“In the case of what is happening in Ecuadorwe express our solidarity, our support for the people of Ecuadorto your Government, and of course we disapprove of these vandalistic attitudes, the violence, the desire to impose oneself with the use of force, we do not agree with that.”he stated.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Alicia Bárcenahad pointed out on Tuesday that in the Government there was “attentive to the delicate situation that is developing in Ecuador”, where the Embassy of Mexico issued a warning to its citizens in the country.

“Itamaraty is pending, the secretary already released a statement yesterday, Alicia Bárcenaand we will continue to report, we hope with all our hearts that peace is restored and that the violence ends” he reiterated López Obrador.

Ecuador lived a day of terror this Tuesday that left at least 10 dead in several violent acts, the temporary takeover of a television channel by an armed group in Guayaquilburned cars, threats to universities, state institutions and companies.

The incidents began shortly after operations at a prison in Guayaquil looking for José Adolfo Macíasindeed ‘Phyto‘, leader of ‘The Choneros‘, considered one of the most dangerous criminal gangs in the country due to its alleged links to Mexican cartels, and which apparently escaped over the weekend.
