Gaza: agreement to deliver aid to civilians and medicine to hostages, according to Qatar

Israel and Hamas, waging war in the Gaza Strip, reached an agreement on Tuesday to deliver humanitarian aid to the population of the besieged Palestinian territory and medicine for Israeli hostages, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said.

Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari announced the “success of the mediation” carried out jointly by Qatar and France, which allowed “to reach an agreement between Israel and Hamas on the import of medicine (…) for the hostages in exchange for a shipment of humanitarian aid for the civilian population of the Gaza Strip. »

Medicines will leave Doha via Egypt

The purpose of this agreement is to deliver medicine and humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, especially to the most affected and vulnerable areas. In exchange, Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip will be provided with necessary medicines. Medicines and humanitarian aid will travel from Doha to Al-Arish in Egypt on board two Qatari military aircraft before being sent to the Gaza Strip.

Qatari Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari highlighted Qatar’s ongoing efforts with regional and international partners, especially in the area of ​​humanitarian and medical evacuations, as part of efforts being made to end the conflict in Gaza.
