The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahuvisited the forces that participated this morning in the operation to rescue two hostages in Rafaextreme south of Gaza stripand congratulated them on their role in “one of the most successful rescue operations in the history of Israel”.
“This is one of the most successful rescue operations in the history of State of Israel: you eliminated the hijackers, the terrorists, you fought to return to Israel unharmed: a perfect operation“, said the prime minister.

Netanyahutogether with the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvirvisited the unit today Yaman of the Israel Border Police, specialized in anti-terrorism operations, and who participated in the rescue operation together with Israeli Army troops and agents of the ShinBet.

Israeli forces rescued this morning in Rafaextreme south of Gaza striptwo hostages, Fernando Simão Marman60 years and Norberto Louis Har70 years old, both kidnapped in Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak on October 7th.
This is the second successful hostage rescue achieved by Israelafter capturing the soldier alive Ori Megidish at the end of October, when the ground operation began in Gaza Strip.
In addition to the 3 hostages rescued – two just today – 110 captives were released by Hamas, 105 of them as part of the only truce agreement reached in November.
With the capture of the two men in Rafa, 130 hostages kidnapped on October 7 remain within the Strip, of whom around thirty are estimated to be dead; in addition to four captives who Hamas held in the enclave for years, including two dead soldiers.
