Venezuela and Russia expand oil cooperation and propose “peaceful” use of nuclear energy

The Caracas-Moscow relationship strengthened during the government of the late former president Hugo Chavez (1999-2013). Both countries signed 430 agreements that include the areas of mining, gas, oil and tourism, which allowed thousands of Russians to arrive in the Caribbean country.
