The United States claims that there is no open investigation into President AMLO

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirbydenied this Thursday that there is any open investigation into the Mexican president’s possible connections, Andrés Manuel López Obradorwith him drug trafficking.

“There is no investigation of President López Obrador. He Department of Justice would have the responsibility to review any accusation”, he stated at a press conference.

Kirby responded in this way to a journalist’s question about an article the newspaper is working on. The New York Times -as reported this Thursday by López Obrador himself- about the possible links between the allies of the president of Mexico and those affiliated with cartels.

“We continue to work with Mr. López Obrador’s administration to do what we can to address this unprecedented migration in the hemisphere and the situation at the border, which continues to be a major focus for President Biden in this administration“added the spokesperson.

López Obrador called this Thursday “filthy pamphlet”to The New York Times for investigating alleged payments of drug trafficking which received his 2018 electoral campaign. According to the newspaper, its basis is an investigation into washingtonclosed today, which also involved his children.

“It’s a shame, there is no doubt that this type of journalism is in clear decline. The New York Times is a filthy pamphlet“, said the president in his morning conference.

The Mexican president displayed a letter from the newspaper’s correspondent in Mexico, Natalie Kitroeffwhich includes your telephone number and a questionnaire about the investigation into the alleged bribery of the Sinaloa Cartel it’s from Zetas Cartel.
